The Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana in Santacruz, suburban Mumbai, had organized the event like they do each year. Although I do not usually make an appearance there, this time it was a request from Mother to come for it.
The gymkhana was lit up including the trees outside and inside the compound.
To accompany the singing there were a variety of Kababs and Starters. There was a well supported Bar, serving alcohol to get every ones spirits higher. The Kababs were cooked on the little barbecue and served with vegetable garnishing.
Apart from the appetizers there was a complete meal that you could have, although the food got over quite quickly as the place was filled with people. In this video you can see the lights, people and the people at the food counters.
I missed the children's part as we reached a little late, it seems a young lad sang O Holy Night, which is one of my favorite Christmas Carols.
The audience came to life, and for the first and only time in the night people didn't flock to the food counters but had their eyes glued to the stage watching the ladies perform, although I had more fun watching the people staring at them with smiles on their faces.
There were a couple of solo performances, a father and son performance, and quite a few group performances like the one below.
The festive spirit is catching up here in Mumbai, India. Bhavika and I plan on capturing it as much as we can especially in the suburbs like Bandra that comprises mainly of Christians.
All the Singers who were present till the end got together to sing one final carol to make the spirit really ring in!
