Widget Bucks, that had the entire blogosphere going ga ga about their high CPM,has provided nothing much to be joyous about since then!

The company has been continuously correcting the CPM value since the time we have incorporated it on our blog. We placed widgetbucks on both this blog as well as our games blog, begin product related it did much better on the games blog.


If you remember we started of with $0.28 a click that dropped to $0.19 later, we realized that widget bucks does not really form a synergy with fractal and we removed it. The surprising part a few weeks after we removed it the $0.19 that we had already made came down to $0.09.

The games blog widget was doing fairly well with a CTR of 1.03% at the moment, the CPM is down to $0.08, note that the games blog is averaging 70 visitors a day and double the amount of page views.

So I think it would be easier to generate revenue from affiliate programs on a focused blog than depend on widget bucks. Adsense made the same amount of revenue on the games blog, half the amount of space and in the sidebar.
