Where the hell is Valley of Flowers article? Guess what I paid Tata Indicom Rs 11,449 for 6 Months for a 512 kbps prepaid broadband connection a couple of months ago and have been getting less than 1 kb speed to browse from the time we have gotten back from our vacation.

I have been using Tata Indicom Broadband at home for a year and a half now, I was extremely satisfied with the 256 kb package and decided to upgrade it. Here my friends are the start of all my problems.

From the second day of the upgrade, my connection went down, it has been fluctuating on and off and there have been numerous occasions where I have not been able to log on to the server.

I have repeatedly called and placed complains but the last call has pushed me to the edge.

After waiting for 13 minutes, I get through the Billing department, to Jayesh. I tell him that I am unsatisfied with my connection and the reason why. I ask him to do me any of the following things -

Me: Convert my line back to 256 so I can then take another ISP’s connection to make sure I am always online.
Jayesh: No, it’s not possible to convert your line back to 256, you can buy a new 256 Package and use it.

Me: What happens to the existing Rs 7800 odd that’s left?
Jayesh: It will remain your account.

Me: What do I do with it?
Jayesh: You can use our value-added services with it like download movies etc.

Me: Can you please cancel my connection and provide me with a refund?
Jayesh: No we cannot do that.

Me: Jayesh how would you feel if you paid Rs 11,449 and not get what you asked for.
Jayesh: Sir, there is not even one complain notice on your account, how will the tech people help you if you don’t complain.

Me: I have complained on numerous occasions, why would I call you up wait for 13 minutes to talk to you if there’s no problem.
Jayesh: (In a extremely rude tone) But there is no complaint number on your account which means you have not complained, and the tech department will not be able to help you out if you do not complain.

Me: Jayesh there is no need of raising your voice.
Jayesh: Sir there is nothing I can do to help you.
Me: Please put me onto your manager maybe he can offer me a solution.
Jayesh: No I am not going to forward the call to my manager for this.

Me: But you aren’t helping me in any way?
Jayesh: (Screaming) I am transferring you to the Tech department who will help you.

Me: But……. (Transferred)

I was too frustrated to get involved in another conversation, I just asked the rep to take down my problem. She asked me to clear my cookies and browser cache, I told her that I'm quite computer literate and to please take down my complain and give me a number for slow browsing speeds. That’s what she did and assured me it would be done in 4 hours.

It’s been three days since then and a TATA guy came over the next day when I was at work, I co-ordinated with him over the phone, he said there’s something wrong with my connection. He first tested it and said that it works fine on his 64 kbps account, I gave him my username and password. He said there’s nothing wrong as it's working at 256 kbps, which I highly doubt.

I told him that I am on a 512 kbps, he said there’s something wrong with my line and would get back to me, I am still waiting, no news till now.

In short the Tata Indicom Broadband Customer Service Sucks

Tata Indicom, the wait time for customer service for an existing customer is approximately 13 minutes, while the wait time for someone who wants to apply for a connection is less than 6 minutes.

Reliance BroadbandI have used numerous broadband providers and most of them suck unfortunately. Although Reliance Broadband has joined the ISP bandwagon to provide services cheaper and faster than TATA, would be the best bet.

Sorry but I had to let it out, our blog has been getting seriously affected with the service Tata has been providing us.

Well,tell me a service provider which provides good service all over country. The best thing to do would be to check the reliablity of the connection in ur area and then subscribe.
I am having tata indicom connetion (512 kbps unlimited) and quite satisfied with the connection. A good
rappo with the field eng helps :).

i am resident at Mulund. My tata indicom modem broke, Mobile galary man sent to me Thane srvice center, after waiting for 30 minites, they sent me to an outsourced location where it would be serviced, which was 3-4 km away, only to come to know that they don't do it. What pathetic information they have about their facilities. I called up and asked everybody, it was Ghatkopar, Dadar or some far off places. After 2 months their collection people started harrassing everyday for 800 rs collection, even in threatening gunda tones, without even agreeing that it is their fault. "Tum pahle payment karo nahi to hum khada bhi nahi karega", what sense of service they have. Till date they only want payment first to start the service, and then only will look at my device. That is ridiculous, it broke when the service was on, they should repair it first. They threaten to add one months monthly rental penalty if the service is not restored, which is anyway useless for me because is still not in working condition, its totally crazy, it really sucks.

Hey Ambarish,

You are not the only one suffering over the last two weeks i have been suffering as well. My net is working at snails space.

I have now downgraded to a 128 KB connection from a 512 Connection with tata indicom. Their service really sucks and im pretty much fed up of it as well.

But I see that you are having a even tougher time. So keep us updated over here, if you can leave your complaint number as well.

Hi,

It has been 4th day, i am continuously following with Customer care and technical guys regarding my WIMAX broadband connectivity. NOTHING HAS HAPPENED TILL NOW

My Account is suresh.somanathan@vsnl.net.

I took this connection on 3rd July. I could use it for just 4 days.

7th -> When i called customer care in evening they asked me to reboot ss and my laptop. some how it got worked. But later in the night on 7th itself, again it got disconnected.

8th -> I called customer care again and said that i want this problem to be solved as early.
-> Called the dealer who supplied it.
-> People committed that engineer will visit on the same day. But none of them were turned UP!

9th -> I called several times to customer care, no proper response.
-> called to dealer for the disconnection,
-> dealer has given white field tertiary manager, but he said he will check with technical account managers.
-> after 1 hr again, nothing has happened. again i called to tertiary manager he asked me to contact technical account manager (Chandra shekar)
-> I called to technical manager on this status. he said that he will arrange
-> later on when he checked with coordinator (Mani), he said that engineer is struck due to RAIN
-> at last nobody turned UP. Chandra said that he will try his best to support at least from remote or else next day positively he will solve the problem. I asked chandra to send the engineer only after 4Pm
-> Chandra shekar asked mani to connect me with NOC people for the help.
-> I hope mani was sleeping, he didnt arranged any one for remote support. I didnt get any call from NOC as well.

10th -> I got a call from engineer around 11AM, stating that he is in.
-> i asked him to come by 4PM, since no one will be there in home till 4PM.
-> physically engineer has turned UP, but nothing has happened.
-> when the engineer said to NOC for tower problem, they refused and passed the time till 7PM
-> later in the night i got irresponsible answer from engineer and Mani says that tower is down, nothing can be doen.
-> Chandra was trying to explain the problem, but it doesn't matter for me...

Why this problem has not yet analyzed in 7th itself. Do people are sleeping as customer care and Coordinator? Kindly let me know the legal adviser, National Manager email for my reclaim//

ATLAST i have CHEATED by TATA INDICOM. So I want my money back as compensation for my time, + money which i have paid (2,214)......
