I came across a really interesting site - Breathing Earth - which shows the levels of carbon dioxide emission (responsible for global warming) in countries around the world along with the death and birth rates. Its a flash-based presentation and worth a look. The data from the site, has been acquired from Wikipedia.
The image above shows 1000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emitted every 25.8 seconds. The country which has the highest impact on climate change is the US, where 1000 tonnes of CO2 is released every 5.4 seconds. That's a phenomenal rate.
When you land on Breathing Earth it gives you an interesting statistic of how many people are born, die and how much CO2 is emitted while you are on the site.
Individual's Impact on Climate Change
We saw what impact countries around the world have on global warming, but ever thought of how much do you, as an individual, contribute to climate change. Here's an Ecological Footprint Quiz, which calculates how much productive land and water you need to support what you use and what you discard.
After taking the quiz you'll be able to compare your Ecological Footprint to what other people use and to what is available on this planet.

This quiz definitely gives you an idea of where you stand and move towards sustainability, which is good for us and the rest of the planet.
