The climate is changing around the world. The weather has been unpredictable throughout the year, and the major culprit is for this global warming. People have realized this and in fact are also taking steps to combat global warming.

Sydney, the largest city in Australia, will plunge into darkness for an hour on March 31stto create awareness about the effects of global warming. The same initiative would be followed around the world in other cities to reduce gas emissions, which is the main cause for the climate change.Global WarmingThe lights will go off all around Sydney, including Harbour Bridge and Opera House and thousands of homes.

The initiative planned by conservation group – WWF along with the city authorities, has been called "Earth Hour" to show its possible to take action on this glaring, persisting problem. Green House Effect
According to scientists global warming is caused due to the greenhouse effect, in which gases emitted by burning fossil fuels to produce energy trap heat in the atmosphere. Last month Paris also followed a similar campaign by turning off the lights of the Eiffel Tower.

With such initiatives at least the earth will get some respite. The recent pact signed by countries all around the world the only country to not sign the pact was America.

The Bush Administration claims that the evidence is not substantial to pin point that Global Warming has a major impact on Earth.
